If visitors come to Ho Chi Minh City, at least one time that they should book a tour to visit to Mekong Delta. It is located in southern Vietnam with a vast maze of rivers, swamps and islands, home to floating markets, Khmer pagodas, and villages surrounded by rice paddies. Boats are the main means of transportation, and tours of the region often start in nearby Ho Chi Minh City (formerly known as Saigon) or Can Tho, a bustling town in the heart of the delta. The river itself starts in the Himalayas and passes through China, Myanmar, Thai Lan and Cambodia before reaching Vietnam, which partly explains why the water is so murky. More than half of Viet Nam’s rice and fish come from the delta region. It is vital to the Vietnamese economy. Places to visit, the Mekong Delta brings to mind floating markets and sampan rides through natural tunnels. Many tour companies offer excursions into the region for tourists. Without a doubt, a day trip is better than not going at all, but we recommend you take some more time to visit as many of these places as you can: Mỹ Tho, Cần Thơ, Sóc Trăng , Cần Giờ, Biosphere Reserve Rạch Giá, Châu Đốc. Next, about the floating market (Cai Rang) on the Mekong Delta. This is a small market on the river where local people can use floating boats to sell and buy to deliver for markets on land. For people here, the boats are their home and their whole family. Tourists can buy food and drinks like coconut juice throughout the floating market. People in the Mekong Delta live friendly and with an environment. In the early days of building the area, natural conditions have a strong effect on their lives. For survival, people have to learn how to adapt to new environments. As a result, they got the experience to live and treat the environment on the river.
